Normal 3350p temperature

Hello, what's the normal temperature of Intel i5 3350p CPU when idle and when playing? I'm using stock cooler. And do I need to aplly thermal paste on this CPU? Other says that I don't need to, because it's already on stock cooler. Now I get 75 C while playing BF3 (that;s too high), so should I clean the old paste and put new? Thanks.

Stock cooler brand new comes with thermal paste so you are fine there. Not sure what the stock temps should be as I never use the stock cooler. My i5 3570k never hits 50c @ 4.3ghz with my hyper 212.

My friend with the same CPU gets max 55 C while playing BF3 with stock cooler and 35 C when idle and I get 70+ C while playing and 45 C while idle. Maybe the reason to this is that I put on some old thermal paste? Should I try to clean it and put a new one?

Make sure all the pins for the stock cooler are fully seated.

But why my friend has a lot lower temperature? Does mother board has any effect on CPU temp? All pins are in place.

It could if the auto voltage for his board uses a lower voltage than yours. Case airflow matters as does room temp.

I had attached cooler incorrectly, now temps are good.
