I am looking to build a high end gaming computer for the first time. This is what I was thinking.
Case: CoolerMaster Storm Trooper
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Extreme
CPU: Core i7-3930 Hexa-core 3.2Ghz 12MB Cache
CPU: Cooler: Corsair H60
GPU: Geforce Gtx 680 4GB (Not sure what brand, considering Asus or Gigabyte)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Red (4x8) DDR3 1866Mhz
Hard drive: WD Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache
PSU: Cooler Master 1000W 80+ Gold with Modular Cables
Optical Drive: Asus 24x DVD-R/W OEM
Fan Control: NZXT Sentry LX High Performance Fan Controller
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Total price on amazon: Aprox $3,000
What compatibility issues do you see? I am open to all suggestions about changes, but preferably it should be around $3,000

Drop that worthless watercooler. Either get a good air cooler or design a custom watercooling open loop system.

I would recommend a different PSU. One from Corsair, antec, XFX, Seasonic. 650w will be plenty.

That much RAM is stupid. Even 16gb is more than enough.

That CPU is overkill unless you are doing HEAVY video encoding. I would recommend the i5 3570k if you are building this to game on. An i7 is equal to an i5 when it comes to gaming.
