Is this a good setup?

Hi,

I am planning on purchasing a HP Pavilion p6-2429 (http://bit.ly/17kNj3x), which comes with the AMD A6-5400K. Is that a good processor for gaming? The graphics, I know are integrated, so I plan on buying the Radeon 7750 DDR5 (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=68500) , annndddd I know my PSU isn't good enough, so I plan on getting a Apevia 450W (http://bit.ly/17rQNmT).

I have a budget of $600, so feel free to give suggestions. I made a thread before this, regarding something of the same topic, and the solution I picked included these added parts. I just want to ask again to another group of people toreassure, so I don't near the date and purchase this setup if you don't all agree on it. Please no, "build a computer"

Is this gonna be good enough for medium to max settings with little to no lag, on The Sims 3, Dota 2, Simcity, and Minecraft?

Thanks for your time :)

Hey,

Have you considered building your own pc? That way you can choose all the components and get exactly what you need, rather than buying a Hp desktop and upgrading it. Or you could take a look at some companies that build gaming pc's, like Digital Storm or Cyberpower, they both have budget options that are made for gaming.

Hope this helps!

Actually, my brother is doing the upgrading and had said he doesn't know for sure if he can build a computer, he can upgrade those parts is what he told me. Either way, I used pcpartpicker to choose the parts, but everything goes over my budget of $600-$630.

Thank you for your input.

A couple of dollars over but you could cut down the cpu a bit and this would blow your crappy futureshop build out of the water. Could drop down the ram a bit as well perhaps a bit cheaper mobo but this system would last you a lot longer into the future than the a6 build you have listed. Building your own computer really isn't that hard everything will only go in the spot designed for it and most computer stores will do the work of putting the heatsink on the cpu to test it before you even leave the store so that gets rid of the hardest spot.

Or this with your radeon card in it :

Which meets your criteria for price by 45 cents lol though I suppose shipping might be something else to consider.

edit : FYI I would take a 650 ti boost or 650 ti over a 7770 either of them would overtake the 7750 and the price is almost the same comparing a 650 ti to the 7750 that is.

I would still have to pay taxes, I think it would be way over.

Yea it would be over but it would last you quite a bit longer for most games than the current build. That and you would be able to turn most of the details on those games you mentioned up quite aways. The cpu in that one is gonna hold you back considerably despite what video card you put in.

Even something like this would probably run better than the combo you are trying.
The integrated graphics in this one is heads and tails over the a6. Not to mention everything else in the build is quality parts as compared to the cheap no name stuff hp uses.

edit : Here are some reviews of the built in graphics

Do this. Much better quality parts and a better GPU.

You can add another stick of RAM later to have 8gb. 4gb is fine for a budget gamer.
