So i bought a new dvi-d cable today, and it just doesn't want to work, but i can plug it into my other monitor and it works, but just not with my 2560x1440 monitor, Yet my short 1m dvi-d cable works. is there a lenght limit or something?.
I'm using dual link, i emailed the people i bought it off and they said it doesn't do that high of a resolution, im confused? do some dual links not do 2560x1440?.
well no, a single link can't go anything above 1900xsomething. Just making sure you had a dual link. So nothing comes up on the monitor at all? Have you made sure the settings on the monitor were setup for the DVI.
Yeah, nothing comes up on the screen at all, my computer detects it and i can see the monitor in amd controls, but no signal i try lower the resolution and nothing still.
if they say it wont go that high then they lied and its really a single link.
You could check continuity between the pins on the ends of the cable. The dual link is the center 2 columns (purple)
