So i bought a new dvi-d cable today, and it just doesn't want to work, but i can plug it into my other monitor and it works, but just not with my 2560x1440 monitor, Yet my short 1m dvi-d cable works. is there a lenght limit or something?.

well no, a single link can't go anything above 1900xsomething. Just making sure you had a dual link. So nothing comes up on the monitor at all? Have you made sure the settings on the monitor were setup for the DVI.

if they say it wont go that high then they lied and its really a single link.
You could check continuity between the pins on the ends of the cable. The dual link is the center 2 columns (purple)

Popatim, if you're asking if it has those pins then yes it does. It looks exactly like my other dvi-d cord though which is weird.
