I have a XFX GHZ edition 7770, and i tried to overclock it, but when ever I do a small amount it begins micro stuttering, and windows lags etc. the guy I bought the graphics card off said he had is running on 1300/1600 when the stock clocks are 1000/1125. I met the guy at the mall randomly and he told me to flash an alternative vbios. He told me just to goto techpowerup and goto the vbios collection, and then pick a 7770 vbios and flash it. he said he flashed a asus 7770 vbios that let him overclock. I scrolled down the list of vbioses and out of all of them I found once with the highest clock and memory: it is a Sapphire 7770 vbios running at 1150/1550. Can I flash the Sapphire 7770 vbios on to my XFX 7770? or do I have to stay to ASUS like the guy did?
What tool do you recommend to flash?
ATIWinflash? AtiDosTool? or something else?
thanks

i don't know why you would bother with a low end card like that, the only thing changing bios would really do for you is allow you to use a little more voltage for a CHANCE to OC slightly higher, at the risk of bricking your gpu. You're better off just getting the max safe oc through catalyst and if that's not good enough, upgrade the gpu.
