Video card advice for an older computer

I've decided to wait until around July to build a new computer, but my current aging computer is having some problems with new games. So I'm looking to upgrade the video card to help alleviate some of the problems. However, I'm not sure how much the rest of the core components will bottleneck and deliver an overall low performance regardless of the video card I get.

My current computer is:
500w xclio PSU
MSI P35 Platinum motherboard
Intel Core Duo e8500
4 gb of ddr2 pc800 ram
nVidia 8800gt 512mb

I'm looking at getting an nVidia 650 Ti 1gb which is $95 AR on Newegg right now. Would this be a viable upgrade or should I get something cheaper if the cpu/ram are going to bottleneck that card too much?

I think that would be a good choice, either that or a Radeon 7700 series card. It wouldn't be much of a bottleneck, maybe just a little and it would be a much better GPU than what you have.
