Need advice on Gaming Monitor

planning to buy new 24" monitor

Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, Socket 1155 LGA
motherboard : Gigabyte H67M-D2-B3
PSU : Corsair tx v2 650W
GPU : Sapphire HD 7870 XT With Boost (Tahiti LE)
case : Corsair Carbide 400R
budget : 185$-280$
usage: mostly gaming

just want its display to be good would prefer something with 2 ms response time

i liked these 3 monitor need help choosing on, u can suggest other monitors also

actually m 4m india and i don't think that this model is available in my country.. where its available price is 445$

m gonna buy it from a local dealer, as most of online stores are expensive in india..

i would also like to know that can i go for IPS panel (DELL ULTRASHARP U2412HM), it has repsonse time of 8ms and i think it will suck while gaming, though i hve no idea about it

i love playing fast paced games like unreal tournament.. though right now i mostly play dota2 and bf3

also m still using 22" crt monitor bcoz i felt lcds laggs

i check Asus VE248H reviews and ppl said that there was ghosting in it..
i was thinking of buying BenQ RL2450HT
and what about DELL ULTRASHARP U2412HM??? its color quality is great but will i get ghosting in it bcoz it has response time of 8 ms

The Dell UltraSharp is a really nice monitor. Super expensive even here in the USA so I'd imagine that in India, it'll be a fortune.

The Asus one is good, not superb.

yeah its available here its about 75 $ more than benq one.. but if it has no ghosting then i cud go for it... bcoz its ISP panel.

No TFT monitor will have no ghosting, not even TN panels. It's just a question of how much ghosting, and in many cases it will be barely noticeable. You could take a look on TFT Central - they use high speed cameras to measure TFT performance and show you how much trails/ghosting there is.

Switching to a flat panel display will always mean compromise (in speed, and in colour quality too if you have a decent CRT) but it's the only way to get modern resolution gaming!

I have a PVA panel (slightly slower typically than IPS) and it's excellent for shooters. The only time you notice trails is during slow, steady movement which generally just means cutscenes (like the camera angle panning across the scene). In actual gameplay, I never notice trails.

Can you get Samsungs in India? They've developed an improved type of IPS called PLS - from the reviews I've seen they seem to be slightly faster than IPS without sacrificing any colour quality (maybe even improving on it infact) relative to IPS.

ASUS VG23AH this monitor is priced around 350-370$, it is IPS panel + 3d with 5 ms response time.. sud i go for it ???
only thing is its 23". m not sure if 24" or 23" makes any difference for viewing 1080p.
and i don't know anything about different types on IPS panels so don't know hows its display

i think i will go with BenQ RL2450HT or BenQ RL2450H, defending on their price i will choose one.

Personally I'd definitely be willing to pay more for a 23"er but obviously if comes down to what your demands are for quality and how much you want to spend. As for noticing the difference, I did notice 24" feeling slightly larger and 23" then feeling a bit smaller again, but you adjust to the difference very quickly and then don't even notice. Obviously the other effect is on dpi but that's no noticeable difference from 23" to 24" (92dpi vs 96dpi, which you won't notice).

I've seen it on Best Buy but I've never used it personally. The display quality is excellent. It's also an IPS screen so it's expected. Just too expensive IMO.

ordered BenQ RL2450HT.. getting it for around 255-260$ in my country
