Best AM3+ MOBO (or revise)

Hello, I am building a PC, and have a problem. I need an AM3+ motherboard that will give me the best performance, and will last a long time (and not arrive DOA)

My budget is $400-$450 and I will be using linux. If you want, please feel free to recommend parts, as I would also like a bigger HDD.

Well, if you were to go with AMD (I would recommend a 8350 over any i5) here is a solid motherboard well within your price range:

You only need to get a more expensive one if you're going to SLI.
