I am on the verge of buying a new system for professional 3D rendering.
These are the desired specs:

-Processor i7 3930K
>VGA nVIDIA Quadro 4000K
-mobo ASUS P9X79-LE
>HD Seagate 2TB ST2000DM001 7200RPM S-ATA III 64MB
-RAM Kingston HyperX XMP Blu Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3
SDRAM DDR3 1600 - 2x16 32Gb Total
>SSD Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
-PSU Thermaltake TPG-1050M ToughPower Grand 1050W PSU
>CASE ThermalTake VN10006W2N Level 10 GT Snow Edition
-FAN Thermaltake AF0056 Longevity 12 Blue 12CM Case Fan
>Monitor LG IPS224T Wide 21.5" LED Full HD / Wide Viewing Angle
-CPU FAN ThermalTake CLP0575 FrioOCK for LGA2011
>UPS PCE 2000 VA UPS XP Series 1200W  (2x Batteries)

My main concern is the compatibility between the Processor and the RAM

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/gaming-computers/core-i7-memory-suppliers-datasheet.html

This link is a i7 memory supplier datasheet (Table) , the part including my processor and RAM Speed has the following entries:

1600MHZ - 16gb DIMM - Crucial - BLT4G3D1608DT1TXX - Asus P9X79 Deluxe/Intel DX79SI/MSI X79A-GD65 8D

Representing

speed/voltage - Kit size - Manufacturer - Part Number - Certified for use on ..respectively

My question is, should I be concerned about my RAM not working with the processor just because Intel does not "Certify" it so to speak?

-On a Side note, I'd appreciate a professional's opinion about the specs of my build in case something doesn't fit or missing. I am planning to use it for 3D production and rendering and WILL overclock it.

Thanks in Advance.

http://

This is the full memory compatibily list for the P9X79-LE, from the frequency point of view any 1600 mhz kit is compatible with any i7 CPU the only problem is regarding the configuration and size of the memory modules and that's because of the motherboard not the cpu as Intel's recommendations for the 3930k are general at best. Do you want to use 2x8, 4x8 or 2x16 as it is unclear from you post ? If you want to use 32 gb total than yes you should be concerned because there are only two supported 4x8 gb kits that i can see in the list Kingston KHX1600C9D3K8/32GX(XMP) and CORSAIR CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10 (Ver2.2)(XMP)

Waw Thank you. I never knew that, I always suspected I should be careful with the RAM , especially bcuz the MB has 8DIMM quad channel slots, and the only RAM the supplier I am dealing with (Online Shop) has is a 2x KIT , and a 3x KIT, but no 4x KIT.

I simply thought that 2x8 + 2x8 would work. Does it ? or does it specifically have to be 4x8 KIT ?
and in case I wanted to add the extra 32Gb in the future, I should also by a 4x8 Kit , correct ?

Yes, I did check the MB specs for RAM compatibility, there seems no problem, it was only when I read the Processor's compatibility sheet where my concerns were aroused.

A 4x8 kit is nothing more than two 2x8 kits so yes it works as long as they are identical(never mix different kits together) that's what i wanted to suggest since that's a 8 DIMM board you have more freedom, you can use more than one of the same kits from the list as long as they are ckecked compatible under the DIMM socket support in either 2,4,6 or 8 modules. You can have 32 gb not just in 4x8 but also in 2 same kits of 4x4 each as long as it is listed as tested and working under 8 DIMM mode. You can use any combination for that matter just study the list carefully because not all listed kits work in 6 and 8 mode.

I_Am_Weasel, I can't thank you enough :). I actually did not know that one had to check if the RAM are compatible for such purposes, I will do that immediately.

Okay, on the website (http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/hyperx/blu/red/) it says :
-Capacity — up to 8GB (single) and 4GB–16GB (kits)

So that means, I can have 2 KITS of (2x8) , and as you said, as long as i get the same module , I can simply place all 8 of the same model to get a 64Gb of RAM. or 4 of the same model to get 32GB RAM, Correct?

Or can I simply get 8x 8GB(single) to achieve a 64GB?
Real question I guess, does it have to be in KITS to be effective ? or would single units be as effective ?
Sorry for so much questions, but I really need to know these things as I will be the one assembling the system.
Thanks in advance.

PS: Needless to say the questions are directed to everyone , not just I_Am_Weasel :)

Hmm..never mind, I think I answered my own question:
I visited this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/302479-30-matched-pair

Which answered the question about why KITS and not SINGLE units.

And as for my RAM, I simply took a look at the Asus MB Manual , and in there , found the two modules I_Am_Weasel mentioned in his very first reply. IF the target is 32Gb, KHX1600C9D3K8/32GX(XMP) and CORSAIR CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10 (Ver2.2)(XMP). And I believe that attempting any other configuration on my own May result in RAMs not being read at all. So why take the risk, If the guys at Asus went through this much trouble testing that entire list of RAMs , then I believe I will simply take their word for it.

Anyway, Thank you for your feedback I_Am_Weasel, you have been of great help .:)

In the list Intel provided they recommended the Asus P9x79 Deluxe /Intel Dx79 and an MSI MB which both had very bad reviews at newegg.com

The MB Manual for the MBs that Intel supposedly certified only takes up to 16GB of RAM in the QVL (Qualified Vendors List)
[Which really is perplexing, why make a processor capable of using 64Gb of RAM and only certify ones that use max of 16GB ?]

I want 32GB of RAM. I Will be getting the Asus p9x79 LE MB which is compatible with a certain Corsair KIT to give me 32Gb in 4 Slots, which is excellent in case I wanted to upgrade in the soon future.

But again, should I be concerned about the RAMs not being compatible with the Processor ? Even though on the website of the RAM they say they are compatible with the latest PCUs and MBs.
