Hey everyone i've been building my first gaming rig and i decided to pick up a BenQ XL2420T monitor and i can't decide which GPU i should get to run Battlefield 3 on Ultra with a 120hz monitor. Im currently torn between a GTX 670 4GB, GTX 680 2GB, and a Radeon HD 7970 3GB. Any idea on which card would suit the 120hz monitor the best and why?

Other specs are an Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo)
and 8GB of RAM.

Higher FPS and hz do not require more vram. It is likely 2Gb will never be an issue for you, especially if you are lowering settings enough to get near 120 FPS. Also be aware that many newer games will not allow you to hit 120 FPS due to CPU limitations. You'll likely want to OC that CPU (with a proper HSF setup) in order to help get to your goal.

Ultimately, if you want near 120hz, SLI will be your goal, but a single 670/680 and some compromises on graphics settings can get you there. I feel more comfortable recommending Nvidia atm, because you'll likely want to go SLI to get those FPS eventually.
