I was thinking about buying a prefab NAS unit, but decided that I can probably build one a little better for a lower price and put freenas on it.Here's what I am looking at,minus the WD red hard drives that I already have.Let me know if you think I have too much or not enough. Thanks

Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1155 Motherboard
Intel Celeron G1610 2.6GHz Dual-Core Processor or
Asus C60M1-I AMD C-60/ AMD FCH A50M/ DDR3/ SATA3/ A&V&GbE/ Mini ITX Motherboard & CPU Combo
G.Skill NS 2GB (1 x 2GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ( can add more if needed)
Cooler Master Elite Power 460W ATX12V Power Supply
Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower Case or Bitfenix prodigy case

I'm around $350 with this setup and would like to keep it in the ballpark.

Since you'll be using ZFS, the minimum amount of RAM recommended by the FreeNAS Project is 8GB. I realize this might bring you above your $350 budget, but you'll be much happier overall with your FreeNAS/ZFS experience if you do so. And, while the cost might be above some prefabbed NAS units, both your hardware and overall solution will be far more powerful than anything in that price range, and it won't be close :)

Especially true if you goes for the celeron over the c60 which I recommend
