Bad Psu in a new build. need help!!

I just finished building my first pc gaming set up, and found out that it didn't work. When I first powered it up, all of the case fans, the psu fan and the cpu fan went on, but nothing else happened. I then restarted it and nothing happened. I tested the voltage coming out of the molex cables of the psu and got nothing. Is it just the psu thats bad, or something else? how should I proceed?

also here are all of my components:
-intel core i5 3570k
-asrock z77extreme6 1155 ATX
-Samsung 120gb 840 series ssd
-WD 1tb caviar black
-crucial ballistx sport 8gb 1600mhz ram
-corsair 300r case
-msi radeon 7870
-cooler master silent pro m700

When you tested the voltage at the Molex, was the PSU actually on? Was the PSU's fan spinning? There should be +12V between the yellow and black wires. If not, the PSU is defective.
