I am running an older E-Machine (Windows 7 Professional) but I'm about to upgrade to Ultimate
AMD Athlon 2000+ XP Desktop (A26EV17F) 1.67 GHz with
1GB SDRAM upgraded
250 GB Seagate Hard Drive 7200 RPM with IDE Interface upgraded
DVD LG DVD-RW Drive upgraded and CD-RW Drive (original)
(all of these parts are from computers people have donated to me)
The sticker says 3DS3 ProSavage8 AGP slot available, (but right now I am using the integrated card)
So is it compatible the integrated card with the latest graphic drivers (mind you this is a fresh install, so I only have the standard VGA graphics driver installed) or should I buy a compatible AGP card for better performance
Im smart enough to know that this computer is old enough to be my father, but I wanna push it as far as it can go without breaking the bank
if you're lucky maybe you can get driver for it from amd legacy drivers. for sure most recent catalyst will not be compatible with your igp. for the record amd is quick to drop driver support for their product. current drivers only supporting amd 5k series and above.
I had the driver before doing a fresh install from Windows XP Professional to Windows 7. I think I got the driver from Drivermax. The day that I installed Windows 7, Drivermax told me I had already used the maximum amount of driver downloads using the free version and I think I chose the standard VGA graphics driver before scrolling to the driver for my AMD integrated card. It's been awhile since I've used this computer so hopefully it's still available and available for Windows 7 thanks!
