Gtx 660 running to hot

I just got a gtx 660: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-2660-KR

When running load, the temps go all the way up to 85C.
When I set the fan on max (74%), the temps go to 75C which is a little over 70C which is when the card down-clocks. I have a HAF 912 case.
Is this too hot?

you may want to configure the fans in your case to face the GPU directly. if you have a hard drive on the upper rails, move them to the bottom. clean up the cabling around the GPU as well

as for the card, you can expect 70+ C with a crappy reference cooler like that. 85c is on the higher side though. make sure the GPU has space. if that doesnt help, you may want to contact EVGA

The GPU has plenty of space as I have opened the side door before and it didn't help the temps much. maybe 3C. I believe I shouldn't adjust things to make the card run like it should without them.
