Deleted Windows 8

Hello Guys,

I hate Windows 8, So I decided to install Ubuntu alongside it. In my haste I accidentally deleted Windows. Is there a way to recover it? It was pre-installed on a laptop.

Here is what I have tried:

There is no Windows 8 iso so that plan failed. So I downloaded a Windows 7 Iso from Microsoft and booted into Windows 7 that way. My plan was to download the Windows 8 upgrade assistant and enter my serial number that way. This did not work due to the new activation 3.0. This means there is no activation key on a sticker or wherever, it is built into the BIOS.

I am stuck on what to do now, any ideas?

Thanks for your help, but as I am using a Windows 7 Iso temporarily, it just extracts the default product key from that.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Try installing windows 8 with a ISO file if it is a OEM windows 8 pc it will register the copy of windows automaticlly if I not mistake.

As far as I am aware, their is no Windows 8 Iso to download; unless you can tell me otherwise. It seems like this is a predicament with no resolution.
