hi im building a computer that is going to have a gtx 670 and an intel 15 3570k, i have a budget of 800 dollars about and i was wondering what other parts i should get for optimum performance and cheap price. I am fairly new at this and advice for entire builds (ive already decided on the gpu and cpu) would be a godsend.

Not sure if you really meant under $850 or under $800.

well i plan to get a gtx 670 but other than that the parts seem good my budget. also i was thinking of maybe 12 gigs of ram and an asrockz77 motherboard.

I couldn't fit a GTX 670 within that budget. It's $100 more than the 7870 XT. Get 2x 8GB RAM instead of 3x 4GB. And an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 is an excellent board. A good substitution.

i may overclock when the card becomes unable to play my games smoothley at high settings. I plan to play games like metro the last light (comes free with my card, im really excited) at high or ultra (depending on how well they decided to optimize the game). i will also play games like rome 2 total war on high or ultra settings when it comes out. the games i play will be pretty graphically intense and i hope i can play them on at least high settings with a framerate of at least 30. i wont upgrade for 3 years probably. i plan to play at 1080p resolution (i think thats the resolution for my moniter).

It is 800. i meant to say that if i had to exceed 800, the very max i would go to was 850.

Here's your GTX 670, but no overclocking.

An OC build that's a bit over budget but works very well as the HD 7950 can OC pass stock GTX 670.

also i am contemplating between a 660 ti and 670. i am probably not going to upgrade my moniter for quite some time so i will always be playing at 1900x1080 or lower. is the 660 ti gonna max out most of my games at a playable fps of 40 (such as metro last light)? i may also get gtx 660 sli or just get a lower performing gtx for dedicated phsx and leave my 660 ti to handle the graphics.

You can't go for an i5 3570k, and a GTX 670 under $850.

if i get my i5 3570k from microcenter, i can get if for less than 200. also their motherboards are on discounts too. i will probably stick with nvidia due to the metro last light bundle which comes with a 660 or higher nvidia card
