What happens if a user has the images disabled and someone has used the rude remark. Surely swearing is banned in the forum so can someone rename or remove those offending smileys?

Well, our Rules of Conduct clearly outline the course of action in that instance. The first is a warning, the second is a ban, and then we proceed from there on a permaban.

jpishgar says "Well, our Rules of Conduct clearly outline the course of action in that instance. The first is a warning, the second is a ban, and then we proceed from there on a permaban."

Why have them listed at all if that were really the case?

You say that then you would have to ban TH, those words are listed on the smiley page, in full view!

"Pishaw!" You say, "What? For only two little words on a page that nobody looks at or even uses those icons?"

By allowing the use of swear words on the site, you are jeopardising the Rating of the site and could end up being rated R for Adults Only and de-listed from Search Engines as being not suitable for General Audience.

Perhaps this Question should be listed for Deletion!

A good point. They will be slated for removal.

YaY! I'm not the Censor Brigade but it was something that just irked me.
I couldn't see any reason where they would or should be used in a thread.

You may need to either remove this Question et al (in its entirety) or edit those words from this page, as well.

These were a hand-me-down from the French forum, our sister sites. They are a bit more rakish than we are. ;)
I've asked for the removal of these smilies to avoid improper use.
