RAM for PC

Hi.
i have a Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7500
2.93 GHz. and i am trying to upgrade my RAM. i tried to put some RAM in but when i turn the pc on it makes a beeping noise. and wont start the system at all. so i am trying to find out what RAM would be the best (DDR3 or DDR2) and how much RAM would be the best? coz i do play game on it. Thanks?

DDR3 is currently the best. DDR2 is old. A good frequency for the RAM is 1600Mhz, but 1333Mhz is the minimum.
2GB is alright, 4 GB is the minimum for gaming, 8GB is the ideal, while 16GB and beyond
is for the extreme. Then again, it depends on what you're wanting to play.
