So I'm building a somewhat budget gaming system and I have everything except I haven't decided on the processor.
Parts So Far:

Memory: 2 x 4 GB Corsair vengeance 1600 mhz

Storage: 1 TB Toshiba Hard Drive 7200 RPM

GPU: Evga GTX 650 Ti 1 GB

CD Burner: ASUS Reader/Writer

Cooler: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer

PSU: Thermaltake 500W

OS: Windows 8

Please suggest an AMD processor thats fast and $200 or less for CPU and Mobo. Don't suggest Intel because they are too expensive.

I would suggest a FX 8350, I have one in my rig and my BF has an i7 3770k and honestly OC'd to 4.6ghz you cant tell much of a difference in gaming. Its on amazon right now for 175 dollars, and then the money u save going with amd over intel go and buy urself a liquid cooler, closed loop u can get yourself on for like 50-60 bucks and it will be good for awhile now and u shouldn't have much of a problem playing just bout any game. the cpu can handle sli 7970's without bottlenecking just fine.

i5-3470 has a way better single core performance
although fx 6300 can be overclocked but they consume a lot of power and produce a lot of heat

yes the 3470 is better but if u want to go with amd then the 8350 is on sale on amazon right now for 179.99, only 40 bucks more then the 6300. cheaper than the i5. yes overclocked they produce a lot of heat but with a simple 60 dollar upgrade to a liquid cooler u will have np keeping the temp bellow 30c.

it outperforms it, its cheaper and so easy to OC with the right cooling, cant go wrong. if u dont mind spending an extra 50 bucks on your budget. if it has to be 200 dollars for both i would go with this package. check out links below

mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280 75.00
cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286 140.00
Total of: 215.00
If it has to be exactly 200 or less than go with this for your cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113287

In my honest opinion if u have a little more to spend and really want a performing pc then go with this set as it would be what i would do if it were my pc.
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131873 $89.99 (no overclocking) and if u want overclocking then try this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874 $139.99
cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284 199.99 or 179.99 on amazon (limited time sale) or at least http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113327 139.99 and from the extra money u save from going with amd instead of intel buy a better heatsink or liquid cooler.
cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032 95.99 (u can get one cheaper if u cant afford this for like 50-60 dollars that would suffice) or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 33.99
Stock coolers are flimsy pieces of junk and barely will keep your system running nevermind overclocking, it will overheat in 5mins u u stick with stock.

The next upgrade u should look into if u want to run higher end games in the future i would have to say would be your gpu. just take it into consideration when considerating your next upgrade. your going to want to upgrade within the next 6-8months. just a thought, also depends on what kind of gaming your doing also so its all up to you.

Just get a 6300 with a good air cooler and clock it to 4.5+ They will destroy the i3 and run with the i5's plus cost less, also you get the fun of having an unlocked chip you can tweak and tinker with. Yes it will consume a bit more power but are you really going to notice an extra buck or 2 on your monthly power bill ? I have mine clocked up and i do not bottleneck 2X 6950's so I wouldn't worry there. There is a reason almost every major tech site has voted it the bang for buck king.
