I was replacing my stock heatsink with a 212 evo from another PC. When taking it off the chip came with it. Never thought it would happen but then again I am new to the pins "used intel before". It came out with it, I checked everything, the pins are perfectly fine and it boots and everything. Can this cause any type of damage to the socket?

Not a real problem as long as you opened the locking lever before you tried to put the processor back in. ;-)
That's always been an issue with the AMD pin sockets. It's best to always twist the cooler a bit to break the thermal paste seal before pulling it off. Even then, keep twisting it a bit as you pull it off.
