Best GPU For D3 ONLY

Hello everyone. In a bit of an issue. Not to sure what to do so I figured I'd ask before I start. I currently game on a PC that is pretty much overkill for Diablo3. So I'd like to build a smaller PC for D3 only.

My main question is does D3 run better on AMD or NVIDIA drivers?

If I go AMD I'd grab a 7950. NVIDIA would be 660ti.

I'd like to go with whichever is going to perform best. My Titan is complete overkill.

Nvidia is a lot better for D3, also more power efficient and generally quieter.

I'm concerned about the age of that graph due to much better drivers from AMD then before. Last I had heard the new AMD drivers made a 7950 almost out perform a GTX670.

So April 30, 2013 is too old for you?

I like to bring a little silicon into a firefight as well, but a TITAN?
Anyway, what's wrong with (thermonuclear) overkill?
The chart provided by matto17secs really says it all: The GTX650Ti is more than enough graphical horsepower, just make sure the CPU is up to the task (and not also thermonuclear overkill ;) ).

I didn't think the drivers were updated on the AMD side of that article. They only updated drivers used were for the 650ti as that's the card they were reviewing.

I believe the AMDs were just included. Not updated.

This is exactly why everyone should reference the charts at TechPowerUp (in addition to the fact that no one else benchmarks Diablo 3).

Quote from their "Test Setup" page:
Drivers:
NVIDIA: 314.22 WHQL
ATI: Catalyst 13.3 Beta 3
HD 7990: 13.5 Beta 2
•All video card results were obtained on this exact system with exactly the same configuration.

I had noticed this after reading the full article. Nice to know the 660ti seems to perform the best. Looks like that's what I'll be buying. Thank you.

Honestly a big reason I was considering 7950 was compute performance. But I think I'll just stick with my original plan of D3 only.
