I am about to build my first pc... I know what i am doing, but it would be awesome if you guys could maybe give me some feedback!
I already have a case and power supply, and an ssd with win7 and a wentern digital with 500gb...

My build looks like this:
-8gb ram kingston HyperX Beast 2400mhz ( http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-2400MHz-PC3-19200-KHX24C11T3K2-8X/dp/B00A771ZWI )

-Gigabyte GTX 660 ( http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-PCI-Express-Displayport-Graphics-GV-N660OC-2GD/dp/B00942TK8I )

-i5 3570k ( http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B007SZ0E1K/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1367997103&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+3570k )

-MSI Z77-G41 ( http://www.amazon.com/MSI-LGA1155-CrossFireX-Motherboard-Z77A-G41/dp/B008KW62WA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1367997219&sr=1-1&keywords=msi+z77-g41 )

Also, is it very important to get an exstra fan?

Total overkill with ram. i5 officially supports only up to 1600 MHz. Also make sure you're getting 1.5V ram

Oh and other components look fine and compatible.

Yea I'm going to have to agree here the ram is a bit overkill honestly. A kit of 1600 memory or even 1866 memory is more then enough for that platform. Which in turn should give you funds to boost up your GPU to something higher a GTX660Ti or a GTX670 for example.

OK thanks! i didnt know that i5 wasnt compatible with 2400... im gonna spare some money with just 8 gigs of 1600.. then maybe later i'll buy 8 more. unfortunately i cant afford a better gpu since the 8 gigs of 2400 was on half price but aint any more... thats why I originally wanted to buy them.

No it can be 2400 can be its all dependent on what the board supports :) Check out the list of z77 boards and you'll find quite a few do support 2400 but as a overclock memory.

but the MoBo i had listed also supported 2400 mhz... thats why I was confused! but it doesnt matter i will save the money anyways.

Because that is what is normally supported with normal z77 boards on the intel platform motherboard manufactures will not warrant warranties on memory above 1.5v.

However this may be you should have no issue finding a suitable ram situation with 1.5v as 1.5v is EXTREMELY common.

I've said it a few times today, but I'm partial to the 7870 over the 660 because of the 660's memory limitations. You'll hit problems if you crank the AA or use multiple screens.

Yea I'm more privy to recommend the 7870 or 7950 for the performance plus the free games in the value. Plus as you mentioned Red the memory portion there and really AMD's dominance at the multiple screen level when 3d isn't in play.
