Does anyone really take these seriously anymore? I was thinking about doing A+, Net+, Security+ And Server+, but I don't want to waste the money if nobody cares.

The US gov, specifically DoD, does.
Security+ is required in a lot of jobs.

Thanks. I appreciate the response. Still trying to decide what to do though.

I know this is old, but in my experience seems like in addition to the government, most large corporations prefer it. They see the certification as one of those things that will confirm what the interview is telling them. And if they hire someone who is incompetent, they can fly up the flag pole, "Didn't know, they were certified". In a world where interviewers actually know something about IT, it may be less valued. In my opinion it doesn't hurt to have as even if the interviewer knows about IT, you still have it for those jobs where the interviewer doesn't necessarily know a whole lot or just outright requires it.

Yes they do. Not all certifications are equal but many of the more popular ones are quite valuable on a resume.
