Aim for a 7870XT, or a 660ti if you can find one on sale that low.

They perform about the same. The 660ti has a slight edge on it, but if you cant find one under $250 just go for the 7870XT

Make sure the 7870 is the XT edition.

7870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
($245 after $15 rebate)

660ti: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
($235 after rebate)

Honestly though, between those 2 cards here is how I would decide how to pick:

Do you care about phys X?
If yes, go 660ti

If no, Are you going to overclock?
If yes, go 7870XT
If no, go 660ti
a c 190 U Graphics card

Agree with caydn12 above, 7870 or 660 ti is your best bang for the buck... :)

First of all, thanks for the response. So without overclocking, 660ti beats the 7870XT? I don't want to OC since it reduces the life span of things, I want to use the GPU as long as I can.

Yeah stock vs stock the 660ti is faster by around 5-10%
