My cousin is talking me into building my next PC. I have limited knowledge in this area, but learning as I go. I really only use my PC for gaming (Call of Duty's, Borderlands 2, maybe BF4 in the future) and just regular internet stuff. Don't really watch movies or anything like that on it.

I've been researching parts for my build, but I have a hard time getting away from the high end stuff that is too expensive. Here is what I'm looking at right now:

ASUS Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155 HDMI SATA 6gb/s 3.0 ATX
EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti FTW Signature 2 2gb
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750W ATX12V
Intel Core i7-3770k Ivy Bridge 3.5Ghz 1155 77W Quad
Samsung 840 Pro Series 2.5" 128Gb SATA III MLC SSD
WD BLUE 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s HDD
Cosair Vengeance 16Gb (2x8) DDR3 SDRAM 1600

I would like some suggestions on cheaper parts that will still preform at a solid rate. I'm pretty set on the GTX 660Ti. From what I've read it's pretty good for the money. But if there is any other areas that I could save some money and not lose too much preformance, your feedback would be appreciated.

Also I'm not sure about the RAM. Do I need that much to run those games at max settings or would I be better off with 4x4 or 2x4?

I also like having 2 monitors.

Thanks again.

I read that about the i5 that it was built for gaming and the i7 was for more video editing and stuff like that. Thanks for the feedback on the Sabertooth. I was wondering if the TUF covers actually did what they say they should do.

You can definitely lose the Sabertooth and the 16GB of RAM. Then I would invest more in the GPU and get a GTX 670 or a Radeon 7970. Even the 7950 is a better card than the GTX 660TI. What is your budget?

I'm looking to spend around $1500 give or take. I don't really have a set amount that I'm willing to spend per component. $20 difference in price isn't a big deal, $100 is. It looks like the GTX 670 FTX 2gb is just about the same price as the Radeon 7970 3gb (newegg). Would the Radeon be the better purchase because it is 3gb? Or is GTX 670 the better card? Or are these questions where the bias' come into play? lol

Both graphics cards will be great at 1920x1080p and 3GB of vram won't make a difference except for specific situations like a heavily modded Skyrim(2GB is adequate at this point in time.)

Sweet, so it's pretty much just preference between the two. Thanks for you post above too, really helped.

No the VRAM doesn't really come into question until you start setting up multiple displays.

For $1500 this would be a better use of funds IMO:
