100-150FPS! The human eye is fooled into seeing fluid motion somewhere around 28-30 FPS. And your 60HZ refresh rate of your monitor will limit you to 60FPS no matter how fast the frames are produced. Minecraft is a low end graphics game anyway. Either processor will be more than enough for Minecraft.

What you are probably experiencing is frame time stutter, not frame rate difference. The GTX 650ti is marginal at 1920x1080, I doubt it will get anywhere close to 100-150fps, even in Minecraft. But unless you have a MB with an AM3+ socket, the Phenom II X4 965BE will be the fastest still available that you can use anyway. (The Phenom II X6 1090T or 1100T will be a bit faster if you can still find one.) Either will be faster than a dual core pentium:

However, the MB for the Intel chip will give you a better upgrade path. So you may want to go with the less powerful dual core for now, with the plan on upgrading in the future.
