Hello I am on a new build that was donated to me and i was just wondering what kind of PSU do i need for an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and SAPPHIRE 100201SR Radeon HD 2900XT 512MB graphics card. I am alittle confused on this one because the graphics card needs a certain 8pin and a 6pin while the motherboard also needs a different 8pin power cable. so what kind of power supply do i need ? or atleast what kind of connectors should i have for this certain build?
Thank you

What CPU are you putting in there? The graphics card needs two PCIe connectors, the 8pin connector on the motherboard is known as an EPS 12v connection. All of those will be available on most PSU's greater than 450W. I might suggest the XFX Core Edition PRO550W as a viable option since it does provide those connections and is a highly rated PSU

The CPu is AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus
And I was looking for a cheap 600-700w power supply with those cable power connectors power and will the PCI e 8 pin match the graphics card perfectly?

Shouldn't be any problems. The XFX PSU I linked is inexpensive (for a quality PSU). IMO 600-700W is right out - it is the perfect range of not the best choice, here's why I say that... A 500W-550W PSU will run almost any system with a single graphics card, most dual graphics solutions recommend 750W. While inexpensive is good, cheap is to be avoided in PSU's since everything inside the computer relies upon it.
