yes, there will be a performance, but it will also depend on which CPU you have, the MB, and the GPU...
1st- the cpu, if your CPU and mobo can handle that speed without OC, there will be cases that you can use that speed only OCing your system...
2nd- if you have an internal graphic unit IGPU, like intel graphics, the internal graphics of some "old" mobo's, or AMD HD graphics you will experiment a better performance, cose the video memory will be the RAM you are ussing, a faster RAM will cause a faster performance... but by that price better save your money for a good discrete GPU
3rd- if you have a discrete GPU, like any in the market, you will notice a slightly better performance in games, specially if the game is that big taht the GPU will need to load in real time textures like in sandbox games
