in the news articles, i won't pull punches, i despise how the comments work to the point i barely use that area, but they use to have an easy to press button to take you to the forum, granted i don't like the forum as much as the old comment system, but whatever, better than what we have.

the problem is that that button got removed at some point, or at least i thought it did... it turns out the button is still there, it just dissapears when any comment is made, so for instance http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Camera-FOV-insect-hemi... currently has no comments, so it has that look at it on forum link.

i come here not for news, though it is a reason i stay, i came here because i could start a conversation in the comments, but the new news layout takes that away unless i want to copy paste names and @ like many people are doing, or move over to the forums...

sure the comments are a fairly major inconvenience, but the forums are an... acceptable alternative, but without an easy way to get to them...

honestly, i use to come here every day, multiple times, and everything i have an opinion on i would make a comment to it, but now... i just stopped caring as much... i bareilly comment because that area isn't set up for a conversation anymore isnt set up for a "FIRST" and "SECOND" posts and trying to write something funny so it gets to the top of the comments because it got liked alot, no longer really supporting conversations, but even than people are still trying to hold conversations even though it now barely works.

so i ask, is the forum button a bug or is it hidden by design, and would making it standard on every comment section be to much to ask for?

Hello,

The forum button should still be there whether you have comments or not. It is the big red bubble with a quote in icon next to where it says "There are XX comments"

That big red bubble shows up on news articles, but not on reviews. Also, that new button/link only jumps down the page to where the comments start. I think what Alidan asked about is the old link that said "View the comments in the forum." Instead of just looking at comments, it would take you here, inside the forums.

I do miss that link.

RedJaron,

As you may have noticed, the design of reviews and news is very different. News is using the new design. Once reviews switches over to that new design, that button should be on there too. The new design should switch over pretty soon, I hope!

There are some parts of article (news & reviews) commentary which are still works in progress and development is still refining - but in the two iterations you should be able to find the option that leads you to the forum thread itself here.

It's still there but is a comment box you may have flipped past, also, you need to be signed in to see the comment box -

Ahh, I was looking at the big red bubble that appears on the top-right of the page. That one only skips down to the comment section.

Thank you all, so I assume these links will be coming to News & Article section soon? Excellent.

Yup - all the article commentary will be using the same system hopefully soon.

No one likes the new format lol but you have to keep up with technological advances otherwise we'd all be still using tin cans with strings hahaha

As Bill Gates said in a recent interview (not verbatim but you get the general drift) - "We are going to force PC users to use Windows 9, to get away from 32 bit applications and programs. It will be pure 64 bit. 32 bit has been around for more than a decade, it's time we all changed to something for the better..."

We're still refining on the new article commentary format, and some of the issues are being worked out. Pardon our dust. :)

I find that to get the most recent updates, I need to close my browser then re-open and the TH site gives me the recent updates. I think its the process for the page that does not allow for a "live" update although sometimes I have seen it happen on an odd occasion.

Perhaps only part of the bulleitin page is "live" and the other part requires a refresh.

It could be that you need to close that bulletin page then re-open it to get the most recent activity.
