How much faster in percentage is 1 Hz from a Core i5 CPU compared to a Core 2 Duo CPU?

How much faster in percentage is 1 Hz from a Core i5 CPU compared to a Core 2 Duo CPU?

(I'm asking to compare the clock speeds of the laptop i5 architecture with the laptop core 2 duo architecture assuming everything like cache memory and core count is fixed to the same amount.)

(If someone could show me their sources and/or calculations, that would make the answer even better.)

If more information is needed, just ask.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Is it accurate to say that a 2.6 Core i5 GHz ~= 4.33 Core 2 Duo GHz?

Edit: I guess I could say Core i instead of Core i5 for this question?

From what I know my i5 ivy bridge 3317u laptop cpu at 2.4ghz is like 2.2x faster then my 2ghz c2d p7350 laptop cpu and seen benchmarks that of oc core 2 e8400 at 4.4ghz scoring similar.

So 2.6ghz is probably= to 4.7ghz core 2 duo performance. You can't really compare them as current i5 dual cores have hyperthreading and memory controller meaning more bandwidth. I assumed you are on about i5 dual cores with hyperthreading as you are on about laptop.
