Headphones or Speakers? (for gaming and movies)

Good day guys. I am planning to buy a Marshall Major FX Headphones, but then i realized why not good speakers of the same price range?

Im not an audiophile and also not a hardcore gamer. I just need a nice/good quality sounds when i play games and movies on my pc. I am also planning to buy a sound card (but not those so expensive ones) to get the best out of my speakers or headphones.

Can you suggest guys?

Speaker/Headset should be based on whether you want privacy in a home/room with or with out people.
Only reason i got a headset and a descend one since i also use TS/Vent etc for comms.

Creative has some nice card, in a wide range of pricing, Sound blaster Z series might be interesting for you.
