Pavilion DV7 Won't Stay Powered On

Recently replaced battery. Power adapter will charge battery. PC will power on but will only run for 3-5 minutes. At that point, volume and internet indicator turn from blue to red, and eventually screen goes black and system turns off. Does this regardless of using power adapter or battery power only.

If it does it even with the battery removed and the power plugged in, then it sounds like your power adaptor is faulty.

It powers off in all of the following scenarios:
1) power adapter only (no battery)
2) power adapter and battery
3) fully charged battery only

Any other thoughts?

Try a linux boot disk in case its something funny in windows . Otherwise it might be terminal
