In the past, I have had terrible luck with motherboards... Don't think I've ever actually had one that was perfectly stable. A friend of mine convinced me to start building a new pc so I could start gaming again, so I went ahead and bought an FX8350 and have been searching for the perfect motherboard since... It seems everywhere I go, all I find is conflicting answers...

I plan on using this rig for a multitude of things... everything from video and music editing, to gaming... I want to have one unit that can do everything. I plan on using a large HDTV as my monitor and will be hooking up my entire sound system... Receiver, guitar amps, mixer, mic... I'm planning on spending a lot of my hard earned dollars on this rig, in return I just want stability and reliability.

I've narrowed it down to these I think :

The MSI seems like a really good deal with the memory, but doesn't have the EUFI BIOS.. and the ASUS comes out to $120 with the promo code/rebate which seems like a great deal too... but the 5 year warranty on the Sabertooth really has me wondering if I should just spend the extra money for piece of mind? Is the 990FX Gen 3 a must have revision of this board or will the cheaper one last me just as well? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

In my own personal opinion i would go with the Sabertooth Gen3 R2.0 .. it has very good reliability plus u already know it comes with 5 yrs warranty that is only on the TUF Asus products and that is really nice .
Also with the PCIE3.0 u can upgrade to a better Video card in the future w/o worrying about GPU bottle necks ... atm theres no card that can use all the pcie2.0 bandwidth (well only the HD7990 Malta which is a dual GPU after all and it is only reduce about 1% in performance so u wont even notice it)

At the end is up to u man, i had almost the same question as u few days before and i went with the Formula-Z just cuz i couldnt find a cheap Gen3 Sabertooth
