I have a triple monitor setup (5760x1080) 120Hz 3D. I want to max out all game settings. I play games like Tomb Raider, Crysis, Hitman, and other graphics intensive games.

My two GTX 580s are not cutting it. They are about 1 1/2 years old. Would it be better to buy 2 more GTX 580s for quad SLI (my MB and PSU has the space/capacity) or get two GTX 670s and sell the two 580s?

Solution
Always go with less cards (2 670s > 4 580s) because if the performance is about the same, all you are comparing is the games ability to use the extra cards. Thus, having less cards makes you less dependent on the games coding.

Wow, thanks for the fast responses! I'll wait for the GTX 700 series of cards to come out and see if they are within my budget. If not, the 670 or 680 cards will probably come down a little. Titans are a bit too expensive for me as I can get 2 680s for about the same price as 1 Titan. If the 780s are in the $500 - $600 range, I'll get two of those. Otherwise, 2 680s or 670s will have to be enough. I can sell my two old 580s online for about $200 each and still only end up with about $8-900 out-of-pocket. If I still need more, I can add a third GPU in a few months. Any other opinions or does that sound like a good plan? Thanks again.

Sounds good to me, I'm getting another Gigabyte Windforce 3X GTX 670 once the 770 surfaces. If you have lots of money to spend, wait until 600 series cards cost less, then buy as much 680s/670s you want. Thats the most efficient choice overall.

Sounds like you have it all figured out! Good luck and feel free to post back with more questions if you have any.
