Hi guys !
I look to upgrade my gpu gtx 560 to a hd 7970/7950 now I am a bit of a noob
in this matter so I have to ask for your help .
My biggest concern is the conection psu ---gpu now on the hd7970 page it says
is needed a 8pinand a 6 pin conector and the hd 7950 needs 2 6 pin conectors
and on the thermal take web page my psi 700w litepower it says it has 2 x 6+2pin PCI-E Connectors . Now I am completely lost is a 6+2pin same as a 8 pin
can I buy a hd 7970 will my psu work ? If not WIll it work on 7950 then ?

Please keep in mind that I am a noob .... so changing the PSU is not an option
Cause I wouldn't know how to fit all stuff I am already nervous of thinking how to physically replace the gpu and connect it hahha :)) :((

My other spex are >
FX 6100 3.3 6xcore cpu amd
8gb ddr3 ram
1 500 gb sata 3 hddd 7200rpm
THE current GTX 560 1GB
3 External HDD 5 TB various USB stuff Xbox controller KEy Mouse Headphons etc

I Play all the latest Crysis 3 ,Metro last light Tomb Raider etc on a 36INCh LG 3D TV
So All I need is 40+FPS at full settings for each game at 1080 HD REZ IN 3d

Currently I get with gtx560 Like 15-30 FPS All maxed out in games Like MEtro Last light Crysis 3 ETC

Thx in advance for your time and help !Regards!

Hello, from experience with my psu a 6+2 connector is a 6 pin connector with an optional 2 pin plug that can be clicked into the 7th and 8th slots to make it an 8 pin connector or used as a 6 pin. So it is both a 6 and 8 pin.

yeah Thx Gamer01 After I sped today + 8h on Googleing I found that it is true a 6+2 pin is basically a 8 pin now to the other difficult part wich card should I get hd7950/7970 or as well after searching and searching I saw some interesting points even here on this forum regarding gtx 670 many good happy ppl with it so is a gtx 670 better for me taken under considerations what I aim for > >> +30-40 fps in all latest games on full 1080hd LG TV with 3D -ON. So I am asking to be sure I get the best one formax 400 Euros > I have found a 670 PE Power Edition that seems to be most talked about :

http://www.pixmania.com/es/es/12735194/art/msi/geforce-gtx-670-twin-froz.html

Would this be better for me than ati hd 7970 GHZ or 7950 links above prices similar between 350-400 Euros

What do you guys think is a good piece at 300 Euros? I hope it wont heat up very much over 75 *C I saw that this model tends to run a bit hot what do you think will I be able to achive my goals with this GPU : MAXed out games at 1080 HD Rez in 3d ? THanks .
