Good 3Dmark test result?

hey i have put together a new build about 2 mounts ago and ran a 3dmark benchmark test today to see what i would get here is my result....

Try overclocking the Core Clock of the card a bit more, I found with my 7970 that beyond ~1450Mhz on the mem clock performance actually decreases (according to 3D Mark 11 Basic). Being a 7970, it can overclock much further.

Hardware used is a bit old, but its all the same method and programs used to overclock modern cards.

wat do u run your 7970 at ?

1200Mhz on the Core, 1575Mhz on the memory.
Voltage I wont tell you doing so is pointless, no two cards react to voltage equally so you will need different voltages to hold the overclock.

I also did a 3DMark Basic run through, this is the score I got. Settings are easy as its the free version, cant change them at all.

Core clock for the card comes in at 925Mhz, suspect thats because it checked while the card was idling, but its definitely at 1200Mhz during the test.

hey i have never done xfire before if i have 2x 3000mb cards should it ends up 6000mb?

Each card needs to hold the textures being worked on, they don't share their memory. You still only get an effective 3GB of VRAM.

ah ok sorry about noob question...... also is your cpu over clocked? and i puy my memory clock up by 10 and got worse result

Yup, my 3570k is overclocked to 4.3Ghz, which admittedly isnt that large of an overclock.

I noticed that as well, beyond a point (~1450Mhz) performance drops if you bump up the memory clock.

how do u update your drivers? mine seem out of date......

You can make Catalyst Control Center update itself, but I just manually download the latest driver.

Punch in the right things, download the latest driver (or the Beta, but obviously isnt guaranteed to work 100%) and install it. Upgrading from Catalyst 9 to 13 will give you a fair bit of a performance boost, Catalyst 12.11 was a fairly big update to performance across the 7000 series.
