So i'm gonna buy these parts and build a new budget gaming rig, would it work nicely with modern games?

Motherboard MSI 760GM-P21
CPU AMD Athlon II X4 640
GPU MSI GTX650 2GB GDDR5
KINGSTON 4GB DDR3
Western Digital 500GB
LC Power Silent Giant 600W

You mean its an under powered psu? I wasn't planning on spending over 450€, i just wanted to know if those would wok fine. I looked at those comparisons and the GTX650 perfomed a bit better than the HD7770, i just hope the AMD/NVIDIA combo doesn't mess it up.

That power supply isn't just underpowered - it's made on the cheap using low quality components and extremely poor build quality. This is one area where you don't want to skimp or compromise as it's the most important part of any rig. Otherwise you could get one that will blow up or short out on you and take your system down with it. Buy a quality one and be done with it. What country are you buying from?

But the thing is the MSI version of the GTX650 has more clock speed than the 7770, that's why i was going for it.

So, an Asus HD7770 1GB is better than the faster MSI GTX650 2GB right?

You are comparing it to a 650ti boost. not a normal 650. Which card will you be getting? They are completely different.

A 7770 will walk all over a 650 but a 650ti boost will beat it. They are entirely different GPUs.

Yeah sorry but I mentioned it was the MSI version which is faster, that's why i was confused.

MSI has nothing to do with it. It is a different card.

gtx650
gtx650 ti
gtx 650 ti BOOST

They are all different cards. Different manufacturers make all of them. MSI makes one of each. Which specific card (not manufacturer) are you looking at?

All right, right now, im looking at the 650TI Power Edition by MSI which is faster than the Asus TI one.

ANY 650 ti BOOST will be faster than ANY 650 TI.

You need to look at the card itself. NOT the company making it.

the 650ti BOOST and the 650ti aren't the same. You cannot compare them.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/781?vs=782 Here is the 650ti vs. the 650ti BOOST.

You need to forget about the manufacturer and worry about the MODEL of the card. Not who makes it. Every 650ti boost will be basically the same. As will every 650ti.

But if there are different manufacturers with different clock speeds i think it's only more logical to go for the fastest, am i right? So a 650TI is better than a HD7770? Can i go with that and have a solid budget gaming rig?

It won't max games. But it will play them at med/high at 1080p. I would go for a 650ti BOOST over the standard 650ti model.

And the 100mhz difference between cards of the same model will make no difference at all in the real world. at MOST 1 or 2 fps.
