Hello,

My list of possible components are

Processor. Intel Core i5-3570k or a Intel Core i5-3470
Motherboard. Msi B75MA-P45 (does this mother board require a sound card or does it come with on board sound?)
Graphics Card. XFX Radeon HD 7870
Ram. 8gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
Storage. 1tb Western Digital Cavier Black hard drive
Case. Source 220/210 ELITE
Psu. 500w Corsair CX500 power supply.
Optical drive. LG GH24NS95.AUAA

I've worked out the total cost of this build to be around
£630

Any recommendations would be very helpful, I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible but still offer a decent gaming experience to this.

Also, I'd be really helpful to know if you think this set up would we okay for Arma2/Day Z. Day Z looks great and it's one of the many reasons I want to switch.

Thanks a lot.

CPU: For the CPU, I would OC and in that case get the i5 3570k. The "k" at the end makes it overclockable.

MOBO: This motherboard does have onboard sound, but it's not the greatest. If you look at the ports on the side, you see different colored circles. They are sound ports to plug in audio devices. Depending on what audio system you want to use, that would make the decision if you need a sound card.

GPU: It's a good GPU. I think it will be able to run games at med-high settings.

Ram: Should do the job for gaming, 8GB is good.

Storage: I would keep the 1TB Hard Drive, but add a SSD. The HDD will act as a backup, while the SSD is more your standard drive. Or you could go with a SSD with 6GB or 8GB, and then put your OS on the SSD. Then use your HDD as your main drive.

Case: Should be fine. Nothing wrong here.

PSU: I think you'll be fine for wattage. But if you really want to be safe, go on pcpartpicker.com and build your PC there. It will give you an estimated wattage. Corsair is a really good PSU company too, so no need to be afraid of failure. They are built really well.

Optical Drive: Should be fine as well.

One last thought, where is you CPU Cooler? That is one of the main parts you need. If you take my advice on OC, you will NEED to get a different CPU cooler than the stock one that comes with the CPU. If you want it as low as possible but with quality, I would go with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

You also need Thermal compound to put on your CPU, but you don't need a expensive one. They are really cheap.

Overall, thats it. You have room for upgrade later too! Hope this helps! :)

Thank you so much, I am awfully greatful.
I did intend of using a cooler I just appear to have forgotten to add it to my list, sorry about that. I do plan of upgrading this is just to begin with and ill add an SSD when I have the money, I would like to install windows to the SSD though, what size of SSD would I need for that?
Would these be suitable for installing windows onto?

SanDisk 32GB ReadyCache SSD
Or
Crucial 50GB Adrenaline Cache SSD

Haha, no problem. We all forget things. I just wanted to point that out so you don't have to re-buy a new CPU. :)

I like Samsung SSD's. They are built better, in my opinion. I would look at those. How about this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-driv... You don't need that much space, but it'll do the job. Plus, it will allow for some applications that you might want to put on a SSD temporarily until you buy a bigger one.
