Ok, I know that the 7970 would run faster, but I heard that it's a waste if you're using only 1 monitor and a resolution under 1080p?, it also overclock better than the gtx 670, which I'm not going to, well maybe a little but not like crazy, price range about the same(ish) I can rebate the gtx 670 with $20 back.

My Specs:
CPU: i5 3570k
Mobo: Asrock extreme 4 z77
PSU: Corsair AX750
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8gb
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo

Personally I'd go with the 670 ftw since it'll be cooler, use less power, and be softer.

However, the 7970 is still gives you more bang for your buck.

When are you thinking about buying said card? The new nVidia cards come out really soon. I would advice waiting to see how the first batch of cards turn out and then decide what to buy.

Yeah, I heard about the gtx 700 series, the 770 coming out on May 30th, which I'm looking forward to it, also I think this gtx 670 will drop their price as well...so IDK D:.

you should wait for the release of the 'new' gtx700 series. At the least, it will force existing 670's to get cheaper (existing gtx680's are getting rebranded to gtx770's , so pretty soon you wont find any gtx680).
And it could force AMD to reduce price of 7970/7950 too.
