1600 ram on a 1333 mobo?

Making your hardware run faster and/or better through tweaking of various parameters like voltage.

So by the sound of it, 1600Mhz RAM would be supported by your motherboard.

1600MHZ will work on your motherboard regardless. if you arent clocking the dimm slots to 1600 it will lower the clock speeds on the 1600 memory down to 1333. Its probably got the new Intel/AMD overclocking profile built in, in which it just ups the the frequency on the module. If you post your motherboard part number i can do some more research for you and tell you exactly how the overclocking profiling works.

this is the mobo model Asrock 960GM VGS3 FX and I'm planning on getting a Crucial Ballistix Sport (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 Cl9, Black or a Gskill Ripjaws x 8gb 4gbx2 Ddr3 1600 CL9

and I will be using a Phenom II x4 965 be :D
