I walk away from a EA exclusive product, but maybe they might bring something new to the table.

It seemed to me like they are aiming to be more of a media center than an actual game console. Lets hope cable providers don't charge an arm and a leg for using the Xbox One with their services. I'm still leaning more towards the PS4 than this fancy box. Don't get me wrong this has some interesting features, but until E3 and I get more info I wasn't won over by this reveal. They talked more about it's media features than games, and the games that were shown were just teaser trailers.

It seems like MS has been killing off their flagship products. First they killed their desktop operating system, releasing a tablet operating system instead. Second, they killed their gaming console by releasing a set-top box instead. I foresee an upcoming rise of Linux, due solely to MS's failures.

I have seen your comments pop up lately, why is it that you seem only to talk absolute smack?

E3 around the corner guys probably why MS did not show off too much game footage. I for one am impressed with the Xbox One media capabilities, I mean Sony is just offering a gaming console, MS is offering much more. The voice and hand gestures are pretty awesome!

They need to take away the exclusivity crap and enable cross-platform play since they are pretty much the same as PS4. And add PC games in for that fact. It's time that the gaming society is connected for good of gaming.

The problem is that most of these exclusive games are created by studios that are owned by their respective parent company ie MS, Sony

That's true and I guess the song will be the same for years to come. And it's a way to get people to buy 2 consoles instead of one. Sigh!

@Anomalyx, Clearly you missed the memo.. this reveal was always supposed to be a Xbox reveal not a what games are coming reveal.. Even MS said it during the Presentation.. With E3 just a few weeks away they are doing the game reveal then.. if they did all the games now.. what would they present at E3. Here we have a system with almost the exact same specs as the PS4 AND you get a world class interactive media system with full voice access HD Skype and TV integration.. Yet you dwell on the fact they didn't show enough games? So you get the same gaming system, as sony's PS4 with all these extras and you still complain.. I guess there's no pleasing everyone..

They talk about "hardcore gamers" and mention sports games first. lame.

For gamers, the reveal was a little underwhelming. Where were the 15 exclusives (eight of which are to be original IP) that Microsoft promised? Or better yet, where are Microsoft's priorities with the launch of its new "gaming" console?

I believe you answered these questions in the beginning of the article:
Quote:
Microsoft made it pretty clear in the first half hour that the announcement was going to be all about the One's other entertainment features. Anything about gaming would be banished to the company's E3 conference in a few weeks.

ina gaming conference, theres nothing more tedious than a long sports games presentation. sports games are fun and all, but you dont need a full presentation to tell us that yet another installment of every yearly released sports franchise is coming to the new console this year -_-
Im interested in seeing the new IPs. just hope that in the case I buy this console, these new IPs dont remain the only new IPs of the gen.

Forza, just like Gran Turismo is a good reason to get a console. last gen, good racing games (Grid, dirt, etc) were burried beneath the invasion of hundreds of mediocre FPS games. hope this gen changes that up a bit. Racing games are one of the more enjoyable genres in social gaming(on a couch playing split screen).
