Is it possible to combine the computing power of old computers?

I have an old macbook and two old vaios, one of which is running ubuntu, and currently I am using an hp pavilion. I am never using more than two of these at a time and would like to utilize all of the computing power of them combined. The only way I know how to do this is to use them as nodes in a supercomputer, but they do not all have the same bios and I do not want to reimage any of them. Is there some kind of software or something I can use to combine their computing power?

  1. You can't turn a laptop into a desktop, if that's what you are asking.
