500W psu enough?

I have a asrock z77 professional motherboard and i plan chance my old 400 watt powersupply that crached. Will a 500 w psu be enough? I plan to buy a gtx 660 ti in the future.

550 - 650w is what most people go for nowadays.

I bought the power supply and my pc boots up but doesn´t show anything on screen. I had the same problem with my previous power supply and i´m thining of replacing my motherboard via the warrenty.
