Good evening all, I need some advice on the below.

I am currently running ESXi 5.1 on the following components -

ASROCK Pro4 Motherboard
Core i5 2500 CPU
24GB XMS Corsair Memory
3ware 9650se 8 port RAID Card PCI-e 4x running 4 x 2.5" SATA HD's in RAID10
4 x WD 1TB HD's in Raw Device Mapping configuration for storage
2 x Intel GB NICs
Corsair 500W Builder Series CX 80+ Bronze ATX Power Supply

I have a spare Radeon HD 4800 GFX card that I want to use to pass-through to a VM but am not sure if my PSU will handle all the above plus the GFX card. Any ideas if this is a safe bet to go ahead and install the card or should I look at getting a 600W+ PSU?

Thanks for your help.

Corsair psus are made by seasonic, a very good psu maker. You shouldn't have any problem. For example, a gtx 690 with i7 overclocked consumes 400w (measured at the wall socket), a 500W psu won't have any problem with your HD 4800

you're right, it seems to be that the CX line is made by CWT, but i'm not completely sure. But CWT it good too (not as good as seasonic though)

Thanks for your responses guys. Its much appreciated.

So that's excellent news, I was worried I'd have to spend a few notes on something more powerful but I'm happy that I wont need to do that now. After all, I'm not overclocking and won't really be playing games.

Cheers!
