Hi all--

got a new rig, 3570k, 8gb Corsair Vengance, 256 ssd.. I recently re-installed windows because just needed to start fresh.. Before i did i was using 1.12-1.17 gb after boot.
Now its up to 1.75 about 22% physical memory used. How much is normal after boot. I'm trying to clean out random shit I don't need and I want to maximize speed and space in my ram and also boot drive. Right when i got my rig I would boot up to desktop in matter of 8-12 seconds, or close to that. Now its been taking longer, not like its an issue whatsoever but I'm trying to figure out why and since right after new install of windows??

oh yeah also, I've been using Chrome. In task manager it shows 3 google chrome processes ranging from 34k, 44k, and 76k memory (private working set) What's with that?!?!?!?!

Maybe you've got hidden start up programs.

Windows key + R = Will open a box in the left corner

Type in: msconfig

From there there will be various tabs. Select the one called Startup.

Then uncheck all the programs you don't' want the computer to start up when Windows boots.

Installing CCleaner, checking relevant boxes (most of them) and then running the cleaning utility

Might also serve to clear up your system even further.
