The build I currently have:
CPU: i5-3570K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP (2x4GB)
GPU: Sapphire 7870 XT 2GB
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (7200rpm, 64mb)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 with 3 140mm coolers
Optical: Combo Blu-ray drive + DVD-burner
PSU: Seasonic M12II 620W Bronze
OS: Windows 8 64bit

It's going to be my first build and I intend to try to overclock it. However, it currently stands at €1225 ($1584) and I like to lower the cost to approx. €1000 ($1300).

Any components that you think can be replaced by equally good but cheaper alternatives? E.g. first thing that came to my mind is to change the 840 Pro for a normal 840. But all suggestions are welcome

Power Supply, a Corsair CX500 or CX600 will still do the job just fine and will save you some money.

SSD, this is a big chunk of change, I suggest you drop down to 120/128 GB and then just add another SSD down the road.

I live in Belgium but will be ordering from the Netherlands/Germany.

I considered dropping to a 128GB SSD (-€80) but my current main system drive (which doesn't hold my Steam installation by the way) sits at 123GB. I checked and 71GB of that resides in my Users folder. Now the whole SSD thing is new for me, so should I only install my OS+programs on the SSD and keep games and music/photo's/... on the HDD? Or should I install games on the SSD as well?
I also heard that these Samsung Pro drives get slower if they are filled to the brim. So that's why I'm in doubt to go to 128GB.

Only OS and some programms if needed.. No games. 128gb is enough,
Also the ocz vertex 4 is a very very good ssd, well but not available in mindfactory.de
However i build a system from a german hardware selling bebsite
And note haswell is coming.

Hardwareversand.de is also a good german website.
But there you have to select the parts threw geizhals.de to save about 10% of the price and also you can get 10€ rabate code in the purchase.

I personaly ordered my parts from hardwareversad.de , had no problems
Mindfactory.de is also very good.

Your OS will use around ~20Gb. I have a 120GB SSD and I have my OS, and a couple of games I play on a regular basis. I have a storage HDD that has all my docs, music, videos, and games that I don't play as much. You should be fine with 120 GB, Windows 7 allows you to set your music, videos, and docs on other hard drives without a problem. I have been doing it for years.
