Applications opening slowly

Hey everyone,

Until a couple days ago I was using a Hackintosh for video production purposes, while also using Windows 7 to try it out to see if I wanted to make the switch. Things worked really well, and I wanted the full space on my SSD for Windows, so I deleted the mac partition.

This ended up screwing Windows up so I had to reinstall the OS, which I didn't mind too much starting from a clean slate.

The weird this is that now when I go to open certain programs, it takes a while for them to "begin" to start up. For example Firefox, I click the icon and it highlights, but after a few seconds the highlight goes away and about 5 seconds later the browser pops up (with the icon highlighted again).

And for Adobe After Effects. I will click the icon from the start menu, and it will take 10 seconds for the splash screen to even come up (once it does the program loads fast enough).

If I immediately close the program and relaunch, it starts instantly like it should (both AE and FireFox).

But if I wait a while, the first problem returns. It's not like it's a huge issue, but I don't remember this delay when I was using the SSD split between Windows and OSX. Everything opened nearly instantaneously, so this worries me slightly.

My system:
Gigabyte Z77-UDH5
Intel Core i7 3770k
16 gb ram
SSD- Crucial M4 256 gb (all apps and OS)
Geforce GTX 570 1.2 gb
1 tb media drive

Windows Experience Rating: 7.7

Does anyone have a possibly explanation for this? Or am I just overreacting?

Thanks guys,
Dan

Thanks profkefah, i'll give that a shot.

I currently have Adaware SE personal installed, and these issues were apparent from literally the first time Windows started.

It's almost tempting to try reinstalling again, but first I will try what you suggested.

Thanks,
Dan

Unfortunately this didn't solve the problem.

And I just tried reinstalling again and it seems like the issue remains.

Does anyone know why this could be happening?
