I have a PC with the following configuration:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
3 GB RAM
XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB
250GB Hard Disk
19-inch Dell LCD monitor with max resolution 1440x900

My PC is 6 yrs old now and I am planning to upgrade it. I stay in India and my budget is max. Rs.30000.

I am thinking of getting:
1. AMD FX-6300
2. Get a Gigabyte Motherboard for processor
2. Use my old HD 5770 with it
3. Upgrading RAM to 8GB
4. Upgrading Hard disk to 500GB

If getting AMD A10-5800K and crossfiring it with my HD5770 would give better gaming performance, then I would go for A10.

I would like you people to tell me, about my upgrade components, and tell me if I have better option to upgrade it.

It would be a nice upgrade for sure. But have you considered overclocking the C2Q to see how it performs?

An overclocked Core 2 series CPU can still be capable.

Also, I think you can only crossfire a 6570 or 6670 with an A10.

Thanks smeezekitty.
My current motherboard's Ethernet port and a RAM slot is damaged. I can't use them. I was actually planning to get a new motherboard, then thought to upgrade totally.
That's why I am changing CPU along with it, because its socket 775 Intel, and very old.

Ok I understand. Since your current motherboard is bad, it is better just to go more modern.

The FX6300 is alittle stronger for the CPU. The A10-5800K has an internal GPU but if you use your old 5770 then it won't gain you much since you cannot crossfire them.

I would say go with the FX6300 unless you don't want to reuse your GPU.
