Looking for a good 23" IPS monitor.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer one with a native resolution of 1920x1080. I'm going to be gaming on it mainly and I'd prefer not to go over $300.00.

Can you tell me what makes this one so much better than anything else on the market personally?

At the $150-200 price range, pretty much all the IPS panels are very similar in terms of color reproduction. Since you want to game on it, you should choose a panel with a high response rate. My monitor is next to a 30" Dell IPS display and a 30" Apple IPS display and all 3 were calibrated with a spyder2... Their colors are a small bit more accurate than mine when compared side by side... but their panels cost almost $1000 and mine costed $175 and you won't be able to tell the difference when gaming......

I wouldn't recommend the upper end IPS panel (unless you REALLY want to spend the cash for almost indiscernible differences while playing unless you're staring at a scene for minutes at a time or you're doing professional photo jobs that actually require really accurate colors for print purposes...

The only reason I wouldn't quite go with this one is the fact that it's not exactly 23". Also my desk is a little bit wobbly and I need a super sturdy stand, I saw some people complaining a bit about it wobbling when you type fast. I appreciate the recommendation though.

I have a DELL S2440L (AMVA Panel), but a friend of mine owns the dell U2412 IPS, and its great, colour reproduction is very good, much more vivid than a standard TN panel, and the response time is 8ms GTG, not great but still very good for gaming, you can adjust almost every thing on the stand, tilt, angle etc. but the contrast isn't that good as is with all IPS panels, maybe i noticed it because the contrast on mine is much better

Anyways, i think its a really good choice for gaming

is there a reason why it has to be exactly 23"? but ya. the Dells definitely have a nicer stand. (and maybe it's worth while to invest in a couple pieces of cardboard lol.)

I would like to have the option for it to go nicely with my other 23" 3D monitor. And yeah I should do something about this desk. What do you guys think of this one - Acer H236HLbid Black 23" 5ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LED Backlit LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1)
