Also what do you think the 9000 (specifically cards like 9970 series) will be priced at when it does come out.

Well, are you willing to wait until December?
If you are, then get a 9000 series card. If not, go for a 700 series card.

Look at the price of a 7970 when it released.

If you have something old and crap now, or are sick of what you have, move up. If you have something like a 670 or 7950 and are happy, stick with it.

never heard of that. but maxwell should be based on TSMC next die shrink. i think nvidia might keep current strategy; let amd release their stuff first and react to what amd have accordingly. based on what happen in the past giving amd the head start for a few months doesn't really hurt nvidia.

The HD9970 is out in less than 4 weeks, will be priced at least $100 below the GTX780 and will be a faster card.

Even if you're a Nvidia fanboy, you're still better waiting, because the release of the HD9970 will force Nvidia to drop the price on the 780.

You'd have to be crazy to buy a GTX780 at this point.

Good part about that is the people that own the 780 can then go sli with the prices being cheaper and having GTX 690+ performance. As far as the 9970 i wanna see what its going to bring or even the 9990

I forget where but some AMD guy came out and said 'September will be just as exciting as early this summer'.

I know that doesn't help a tonne.
